Our Mission:

APTA is a volunteer organization that aims to improve and maintain trail corridor within the Talladega National Forest, state and private lands along the approximate 180 miles of the Pinhoti Trail, Alabama’s premier long distance hiking trail.

Our Board of Directors and Officers are made up of volunteers with over 100 years of experience and involvement just on the Pinhoti. With over 200 man hours of volunteer work on the trail every quarter, our volunteers lead the way in Alabama when it comes to the Pinhoti trail maintenance.

Please consider a tax deducible donation to our 501-(c)3 non profit and feel confident that 100% of all funds go back into the trail. With little to no overhead, we are dedicated to making sure all money we raise will benefit the Pinhoti.
